Posted: January 29th, 2010 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »A quick shout out to Bristol legend Andy Council of whom we have been long-time admirers and anyone that missed out on his piece at the RWA show in early 2009……………….. Shame on you!!
Mega City Fauna, a solo show of new works opens this Friday, 15 January at 6 PM until 10 PM with those crazy kids at the Weapon Of Choice Gallery, 14 St Michaels Hill, Bristol,BS2 8DT and runs until 14 February 2010. GOOD LUCK
I’m sure TOX has long commenced his ‘10 bombing spree but we loved this

It’s always the simplest street art (not to be confused with graffiti!) That hits the spot and I have to admit that this gave me a good chuckle when I came across it.
I was even more pleased to hear that it was by our very good friend K Guy who certainly gets his witty, ironic and hard hitting messages across every time he gets up on the streets. What with his recent collaborative work with the boys from Prodigy than 2010 will certainly be a year to keep an eye on his relentless progress against the monotony of London life.

Advent Opening – 4th Dec
Posted: January 29th, 2010 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »What a night!
It was a quiet start which did cause a little anxiety as the 2 degree gallery space is pretty well unknown and off the beaten track!
But people did find us and the gallery and the evening saw a constant flow of people. The space was really well received as was the art work on display which, as we were showcasing some new and different artists, gave us all a very warm feeling inside.
We were particularly pleased to welcome Pedro Matos a Portuguese artist who actually made the journey to be at the opening night. It was really good to meet him and his girlfriend and were stoked that they could be there – thanks guys.
It was a particularly bleak evening on the weather front and we would like to thank everybody for turning out and making Friday such a great night – the mulled cider and flaming brazier certainly helped. And many people hung around despite the weather evening after we shut the doors for the night.
Here are a few snaps of the evening – the show is open until the 20th December Wed – Sun 11am to 7pm so if you couldn’t make it on Friday or even if you did but want to come and have another gander there is plenty of time to pop along.
For those of you who are unable to make please take a look at the attched pdf document (click on the word advent below) and if anything takes your fancy drop us a line at all@art-el.co.uk.

The Influencers Festival in Barcelona, Spain 2010 – Featuring French Artist ZEVS
Posted: January 29th, 2010 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »The Influencers Festival in Barcelona, Spain 2010 – Featuring French Artist ZEVS
The Influencers Festival in Barcelona last year looked wicked, with Italian artist Blu doing a giant money shark, and this year is going to be another good one!
French artist Zevs will be presenting his work at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona next Saturday, February 5th. He is known for his performance art and the instantly recognisable liquiding logos.
He was in the media recently after being arrested in Hong Kong after painting the Chanel store logo to look like it was melting. He’ll be in Barcelona for a few days, hopefully painting up the city a little.
It’s not all about ZEVS though, they have loads of other artists and a pretty great set of things going on. People like The Yes Men, James Acord, Donkijote, Black Label Bike Club, Joan Leandre / Retroyou, Critical Art Ensemble and IOCOSE.
Here is the blurb from the flyer, check out The Influencers site for the latest info on what is going on…
Since 2004, The Influencers has been gathering a limited but carefully selected number of diverse projects. This 6th installment makes no exception: celebrity pranksters (with a cause), tactical media artists, computer games modders, hitech donkeys, extreme bicycling gangs, atomic sculptors, ads’ kidnappers, and media transformers will come together for three long evenings to present, discuss, and perform their work.
Whether they are art works or life long projects, or just weird ideas one came up with, these practices are fed by a visionary taste for weirdness and desire for social change.
Unlike other festivals, The Influencers has no theme, but if you are looking for threads to string stories together, this time you will encounter at least a couple. First, examples of mind ecologies, life after dumb consumerism, DIY survival strategies for after the brands feast is over.
Second, risky and dangerous narratives. Those risks that you take on when you force physical, aesthetical, legal, and political boundaries of our society, and challenge collective imagination to desire the unthinkable. We want to show that taking risks is possible, never easy, frequently fun, and always very instructive.
The Festival is on from 4-6th February in Barcelona, Spain, go!
