It was a busy weekend for Bristol street art on Saturday a TCF Crew re-union, with Eco, Ziml, Paris, Feek and Xenz getting together to do a massive production in Ashton Park underneath the Cumberland Basin.  It was a great day and the end result was something else and will be put put o good use as images from the production will be projected onto the Colston Hall at it’s opening event in September.

The fine fellow Mr Matt Sewell is having an exhibition at the Eastpak store on Carnaby (swinging London) St on Thursay evening 28th Feb 2010. He is an awesome artist and I suggest you roll down if you are in town.
He’s also kindly asked me to play some records at the private view, what a nice man. I’ll be bringing a box of sevens down with me, including some birdsong records, just for Matt:)

Haiti Benefit Gig

Posted: January 28th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »
I’ve recently been involved in this event to raise money for the Haiti earthquake and have designed the logo and font for the night. It looks set to be a great evening and so far the response has been fantastic.
Buy yourself a ticket and come on down to what looks set to be a marvellous night in aid of a very worthy cause.

“We’ve just announced early details of a fantastic fundraising Haiti benefit gig at the Roundhouse on February 25th – with a really strong line-up and some huge special-guest acts still to be revealed next week.

First acts announced for Haiti Earthquake Fundraiser@The Roundhouse includes Seasick Steve; Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Magic Numbers; Mr Hudson, The Futureheads and Bombay Bicycle Club. DJ sets from The Maccabees, Zero 7, Mat Horne and Kate Nash. Presenters include Charlie Brooker, Edith Bowman, Harry Shearer (Spinal Tap/The Simpsons), Marcus Brigstocke, George Lamb and Rick Edwards.”

Tickets went on sale last friday, so would advise you get involved now:

Monsters At Work present An Exotic Jamboree

Come sail away on the cosmic Kon-Tiki and let the warm sea spray wash away those winter blues and Arctic weather. Why not have yourself a cocktail or two whilst grooving to the defrosting sounds of surf, sun and sea as provided by our intrepid cosmic explorers Pete Fowler and Jon Tye.
Our first special guest of the year is Mr. Joel Martin of Quiet Village, awright! Of those not in the know, Joel is THE MAN when it comes to toothsome disco delights, fruity psych treats and smooth grooves amongst his ever expanding record museum.

Expect a washed out celebration of Beach Pop, Cosmic Yacht Rock and Deck Shoe Gaze with a sprinkling of Exotic Disco Coral Formations.

Just don’t fall into the deep.

DIG DJ spot in Cardiff 18th Dec!!!!

Posted: January 28th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »
Friday, 18 December 2009 at 20:00-03:00
Cardiff Arts Institute

The lovely people at DIG! have kindly invited me to spin at their night (thanks guys), in their own words……

“Friday the 18th of December is Black Friday, this means many people in smart shirts and shiny tops getting hideously pissed in town, congregating in the middle of St Mary street, getting naked and forming a giant sticky ball of bad sex that rolls around town like a huge snow ball collecting passers by and eventually turning into a super perverted flesh coloured snowman.

If you don’t want to become part of that gooey freak show then you’d better come and hide in the CAI next Friday and enjoy the DIG festive freakout.

Live music will be supplied by Y Niwl, featuring members of Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci and Cate Le Bon and fronted by Llanrwst guitar hero Alun Tan Lan, they play loud and they play fast and they don’t stop until everyone’s dancing.
If you don’t believe me watch this…

Record discs will be spun by the DIG DJ’s and world famous artist, SFA sleeve designer and bespectacled Frankenstein Mr Pete Fowler. Pete brings with him a mentasmic bag of brain wobbling beats, foot tapping fuzz and child ensnaring eargasmic wonder wax. He played at the MBV ATP weekend recently and apparently it “went off big style”.

And that’s that really, unless you’re some kind of disgusting weirdo who wants to become part of a naked human 3D jigsaw puzzle we’ll see you next Friday.

Merry Chirstmas.

DIG!”
