The New Look World Graffiti Urban Art Site is Up…

Posted: November 17th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Welcome to the new-look World Graffiti Urban Art site! It’s still a work in progress but stick with us, it’ll be better to use in the end.

Graffiti and urban art are a univeral form of expression, each country has their own style and message but all embrace the same desire to create and display. Some graffiti is a reaction to a shitty situation, some is political and some is art for the sake of art. We’ll be finding a bit of everything…

New Petro Show

Posted: November 17th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Some of you probably haven’t heard of Petro, he’s from the old skool and certainly hasn’t joined in with the whole ’street art gallery sales’ bandwagon of the last few years, but he’s got more skills than many out there who have.

So, he’s got a new show opening this Friday at Friend and Co up on Park Row, which is getting everyone up there very excited at the moment, so should be a goody.

Opens this Friday at 7pm, then on until the 5th December. Wander on by if you’re about.

Sado Monarchism by Paul Baines

Posted: November 17th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Sado Monarchism (44" x 55") by Paul Baines is the twelfth limited edition digital print in the Indoor Street Art series available here. Britain offers no real human rights. We are subjects of the Queen who is legally nothing more than a token figurehead for a fractured democracy. We live under the rule of an authoritarian unelected leadership and are constantly spied upon by all means available including CCTV and intrusion in all communications without the approval of a British judge.

Sado Monarchism by Paul Baines (Digital Print)

Britain needs a Bill of Rights, we need an equivalent of the 4th Amendment, for all the pomp and ceremony the monarchy has no power to contest the authoritarian agenda of the Labour Government without the risk of a people's revolution. Despite the grandiose visions of our past, Britain is more likely to put up or shut up. We are prisoners living on an island suffering from the mistakes of the rich and powerful and the corruption and ineptitude of those meant to represent the people.

Is finished and done and that. Shiny it is too, shinier than Jack Nicholson after a damn good polishing. Must be all those turtles and their wax.

Check it out here, the new 45RPM website.

Sean Martindale’s Park in Toronto

PARK-22.jpg

From Sean Martindale in Toronto:

“For some time now, the spot in has been relatively empty aside from mud, waste and strewn garbage. There’s an application to build condos on the site. It has remained undisturbed since Monday and I watered it yesterday because there hasn’t been any rain lately… Grass is pretty resilient, so it should survive and take root unless/until somebody removes it. Joe Clement assisted me with the install”
