Mack Daddys has long been known for its artwork inside the shops from some of Bristol’s best. Now Paris has taken the Park Row one to the outside as well with this fine work…

It’s a pretty colourless area round there really, so nice to see this makes a nice change. Still love them letters with landscapes in too.

Issue 1 includes artwork from: SickBoy, Stanley Donwood, Lokey, Dylan Shipley, Soker, Turroe, Eko, JODY, DORA, 45rpm, Haka & many more…

ALSO interviews with Task Force, Epok & Sepr, Nikill AND… Design and WIN your own pair of Pumas

It’s just up the road from the new Friend and Co place too of course, so it’s party central down St Michael’s Hill/Park Row way this evening. If you want to have a read of the magazine online beforehand, then you can download a copy here.

Catchin’ Up With Rene Gagnon

From Rene:

“these days it seems shoes and clothes just aren’t enough anymore.

i’ve always loved working in different mediums on the street – stencils, pastes, stickers, cardboard, wood, etc.. over the years you watch your works disappear no matter what the medium – from weather, other artists, property owners, etc.. anyone that does this for a while starts to realize that with more thought out placement, things can last a long ass time, a lot longer than pieces placed haphazardly. so lately i’ve not only been choosing my locations more wisely but have been doing things that attempt to blend in with the existing surroundings. i’m sure these alterations go
mainly unnoticed for the most part but for me it offers the same satisfaction as the other things i do on the street – it’s all about altering the outside world no matter how subtle”

_MINGA_bastardilla_colombia.jpg

From Bastardilla – “In this occasion I want to share with you some information about some current issues in Colombia through image and text I send to you Minga: In “Kichwa” a dialect from the Amazon, means work or community actions, collective and solidary. MINGA is the name of a peaceful manifestation that is carried out through a march of hundreds of kilometers, in which different groups and organizations of various regions of Colombia, create through the use of dialogue a work agenda who’s objective is to determine the steps to follow towards the defense of the dignity and sovereignty of the orginary people and native indians in their ancestral lands. This year ,it also proposes as part of the Global Minga the construction of a Climatic Justice Court, that judges the foreign companies and governments that work with them and prey on Mother Nature, looting her natural resources and vulnerate the respect and defense to the right of life.”
