Toss up over these two

Posted: September 25th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

I popped into The Lazarides Greek Street Gallery last night to see the mini Jonathan Yeo exhibition they’ve got going on in there.

It’s very good. Especially if you like porn. Which I do*.

I LOVE both of these images, from Jonathan’s Blue Period, but I can’t decide which I prefer. The Paris one is only a tenner (versus £1,500 for W), but the two guys having sex on Bush’s eyelid is a stroke (sorry) of genius.

Paris had always been a little cock-handed

A bush in the Bush is worth two in the hand job

A naked bird in the Bush is worth two in the hand job

Take a closer look (if you dare):

Suck it and see

Until next time.

Graffiti Train Bombing – Fast Graff Video!

It’s Friday and I’ve not sorted any photos out for a post today, got some cracking bits from around London to get up so that’ll be next week. Also got an interview with VERDE from Brazil, his art is awesome.

So here is a bombing video instead, not sure where they are (Spain maybe?), but the dude’s got some balls. Nice looking piece at the end of it too!

Check out this sweet sweet Oz graff from @DefHi.

90’s Free Party Book – Illustrators Needed

Posted: September 25th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Had this request in for people to help bring to life a book on the 90’s free party scene in Bristol, so if anyone fancies it, get in touch!

I’m looking for a handful of local artists to do some black&white illustrations for a book about Bristol 90’s free parties -  mostly character & crowd work I guess, the freakier the better, some of it sourced from photos if possible – to be reproduced at approx A5.

Could be a small bit of cash kicking around for it too apparently.

If you’re bold enough to call your shop Chinnychinchin, you’d better make sure that what you sell lives up to expectations.

And they do.

I love these toy cars from Urban Collectibles which come in a range of three, hand-burnt out models, including my personal favourite, The Minivan/Insurance Scam.

3rd Eye And Mr Jago In Weston Super Mare

Posted: September 25th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

On the surface of it, it might sound light a bit of an unlikely combo, graf artist 3rd Eye and self professed ‘not a writer’ Mr Jago. But that’s the thing about Bristol isn’t it, the vast majority of people aren’t too precious, and things grow and develop precisely because people of all different styles work alongside each other.

So, this is these two out in Weston-super-mare, painting a subway tunnel, and doing a damn fine job of it.

Here’s the 3rd Eye end of the tunnel, with a Jago hand on the fills.

And a Jago/3rd Eye combo end…

wsm-jago-bastid-tunnel3

…bit closer, quite a lovely shot in a way…

wsm-jago-bastid-tunnel2

…and some proper detail. Nice one.

If you fancy wandering down to see this, the whole of the inside of the tunnel is painted too, another youth project, but a bastard to get a photo of cos of the light. Turned out nice despite the circumstances (surface to paint on), so definitely worth a look.

Incidentally, if you’re still not fully up on the world of 3rd Eye/Green Bastid, then these links will help you fix that…
