Sibling rivalry

Posted: September 8th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

One is receding, prone to throwing punches at female photographers and threw away this: http://www.blogcatalog.com/search.frame.php?term=sienna+miller+british+gq+pictures&id=2a80d41f4fd8895c5154b1ba1ad43801
for a fat nanny.

The other is his elder sister, Natasha Law, who paints beautiful Pop Art semi-nudes like this: http://www.breedlondon.com/artists/natasha-law/portfolio-1-7/.

No contest I’d say.

And just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, she only goes and releases a print of Jasmine Guinness, heiress to the Guiness brewing fortune:

A pint for me and a Diet Coke for your baldy bro

The Talented Mr who?

Buy it here: http://www.elevenfineart.com/?pageid=3&ListID=1&ItemID=1150.

Good things come to those who wait.

Unless you’re Jude Law.

Until next time.

Blow the budget on a new RYCA print

Posted: September 8th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Eye, eye, here’s an appropriately titled print if ever there was one.

It’s over 15 years since Michael Douglas blew a gasket because he couldn’t get a Breakfast Sandwich at Whammy Burger: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106856/.

I’m not sure if Gordon Brown likes a bacon bap (who am I kidding?), but the similarities between Douglas’s portrayal of a weary, confused, sad to the soul out-of-work engineer and the Big Feartie are pretty stark.

All of which are captured wonderfully by RYCA’s ’Falling Brown’:

What do you mean I can't expense my shotgun?

The Ones That Got Away #2

Posted: September 8th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

As dusk fell on Friday 14th November, Adam Neate left 1,000 artworks scattered across the City of London: http://www.elmslesters.co.uk/index.php?pid=5&subid=28.

“You won’t be laughing when I find one”, I said to the missus as I set off on my scooter at 4am.

“You won’t find one though”, she said, giggling into the duvet and going back to sleep.

I didn’t find one.

Then there was Banksy again. Probably.

I am the change you have been waiting for

Posted: September 8th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

People of the world, this is our moment.

Let us resolve that the days when our homes suffered extraordinary poverty will never return, where bare display cabinets are commonplace and crappy Ikea photo frames devastate our mantelpieces.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

We are the change that we seek.

This is our time:

Flower Power

Posted: September 8th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Hey man, this is good sh*t dude.

Michael De Feo, a.k.a. Flowerguy, has been brightening up New York with his trademark flower image since time began: http://www.feedmecoolshit.com/interviews-archive/michael-de-feo/.

And as a thankyou to his many fans, Michael will be releasing a ‘ridiculously inexpensive print series’ today, September 2nd, at 5PM EST, of which this is my favourite:

Hurry up or they'll Begonia!

“By Jove yes, those Geordies are devilishly good. What’s the print called?”

“One believes it is called Thick as Thieves.”

“Super, thanks Old Bean, I’ll ask Jenkins to pick one up. Jolly nice prints what…Tally Ho!”

Introducing…The Ones That Got Away

Posted: September 8th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

‘Ello, ‘ello, ‘ello.

Not much happens at weekends as far as new print releases are concerned, so instead, I’ve decided to post up images of long sold out editions that slipped through my fingers.

Please accept my apologies if my blog becomes smudged and illegible, the pain of having missed out on these prints still makes me bawl.

Monk-ey business

Posted: September 8th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Another Frenchy for you today by the name of Jaybo (a.k.a Monk).

Now living in Berlin, Jaybo’s acrylic, oil and spray paint canvases are a sight to behold: http://www.ukstreetart.co.uk/2009/07/17/gallery-jaybo-the-signal-gallery-shoreditch/.

And his outdoor work is pretty hot too: http://oldeschoolhonour.wordpress.com/2008/09/17/jaybo-aka-monk-urban-fine-arts/.

Heavenly isn’t it?

Praise the Lord then, that Berlin’s excellent Circle Culture Gallery have still got a few copies of Jaybo’s ‘New Wave’ print, a Kozyndan/Disney mash-up printed on Japanese paper:

Another One & Other

Posted: September 8th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

We’re now nearly 2 months into Antony Gormley’s ‘astonishing living monument’ on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square: http://www.london.gov.uk/fourthplinth/plinth/gormley.jsp.

I drive past it nearly every day and I’m afraid I have yet to be astonished.

If only I’d made the opening: http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/nLyt0vIeRB8/Anthony+Gormley+Fourth+Plinth+Installation/zIxskmIfKng/Jason+Clark.

Breathtaking.

Had the Mayor appointed James Cauty to curate the plinth project however, things would have been very different:

San Francisco Graffiti – Some random bit’s left over in the camera…

Here are a few shots of San Francisco graffiti that didn’t make it into other posts so I thought I’d stick them in cos some are good! Tomorrow I’ll have a few lovely shots from World Graffiti favourites KA’a (part of Krupion Collective, France). And maybe on Thursday I’ll put up the Top 50 Photos from the [...]
