Battle Of The Boards – Paris Steps Up

Posted: August 19th, 2009 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

So, after all the fun of the fair of Sepr’s piece down at the Stokes Croft end of Hillgrove Street, Paris stepped up to the boards yesterday to continue his Risk like domination of Stokes Croft at the moment.

Nice work, and there’s another one round the other side too if you want to go and check it out. Both should, hopefully, last a little longer this time…

Thanks once again to Miss B for the photos.

What we love about Specter’s work is that all of his pieces are hand painted and site specific. The work above, done in Brooklyn, is from a new project about consumption and waste called “Discarded”

You can see more of the project here.

Anyone Support City?

Posted: August 19th, 2009 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Had an email in on behalf of the Three Lions Pub in Bedminster, which is thinking about getting a mural done for the place, pro Bristol City, natch.

The email comes with a warning than anyone wanting to paint the place without permission risks getting beaten with their own spleen, but if you’re a City fan and fancy a paint in a legendary pub, then get in touch! bristolgraffiti AT googlemail.com

From Charlie Todd’s Urban Prankster blog tips us to Total Crisis Panic Button, a terrific culture jam created in Los Angeles by Jason Eppink. The project inspired the photo below, put up by Ryan in New Haven, CT.

New Reading, UK Graffiti
Here are a few bits of Reading graffiti, they’re over the fence next to the Rising Sun Arts Centre/club near the Oracle roundabout and around there. Nothing particularly great but worth a look i think. The ‘Tree’ tag is the best.
Here are some other graffiti photos from Reading, Brighton and more… Tomorrow [...]

JONS – Brazil (Brasil) Graffiti, São Paulo

Today we’ve got JONS, a really interesting Brazilian graffiti artist, painting out of São Paulo. From the photos I’ve seen, JONS seems to have a few different styles going on, characters in black and white and brightly coloured decorative pieces too.

I love how the coloured stuff fits in beautifully [...]

Minto Road, St Werburghs

Posted: August 19th, 2009 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Bit of back to the old school down this road really, which was probably quite a cute street til they built warehouses all round it. Looks like there’s been a fair bit of chrome paint buffed off round here over time, but there are still some stencily bits.

warehouse minto road

Mostly here, with a familiar handstyle in the middle.

Didn’t think any of these survived any more, must be pushing 10 years old this one, the snails are pretty old too.

jeffrow minto road

This is well faded, but there’s another one in a pedestrian underpass by the Ikea bit of the M32.

lips stencil minto road

Here’s what it should look like…

This little chap seems to be surviving too.

and down at the other end of the road, once again the stencil that everyone thinks is a Banksy but isn’t.
