A New Old Banksy, Sort Of.

One of the perks of writing for a blog is getting to wander around looking at things and looking for things. So on a sunny day like today it made sense to go for a wander and catch up on a few favourite spots. More of that soon, but it’s funny what you find when you’re thinking of it isn’t it?

Have seen photos of this around before, but stumbled across this for the first time through what can only be described as ‘following your nose’. The paint’s well dry now of course, but it’s funny when you find something on a wall that from a distance just looks likely.

Interesting find too, another surviving old Banksy in Bristol. Down on the end of Stafford Road in St Werburghs, by where it meets Sandbed and Merthsham Roads, it’s a ‘playing it safe’ stencil, like the one up on Pro Cathedral Lane (also still there), only this time in blue. Not sure there were any other blue stencils in Bristol, so a bit of a random one it seems. Probably from back around ‘99 or so.

Another Surviving Old Banksy

Had long, long forgotten about this one, was never that visible anyway. Another of the Blowpop Records Banksys from around ‘99/’00. With the one blogged the other day, and with another that was by where the Here Gallery now is, that’s three of them done round Bristol so far.

Here’s the wall where it is, someone really should bring that building back into use, it’s ace.

And a closeup on what survives of it these days (these ones never seemed to be signed).
