 COPE2 Graffiti Video
An interview with New York’s COPE2, some love him and some don’t, and he’s had his fair share of feuds - I reckon he’s great, a legendary bomber for sure, but that’s just me…

Check out these COPE2 Adidas too! Damn I like these… Limited edition from Footlocker 2008, god knows if they’re still available [...]

Banksy On Whiteladies Road

Posted: July 31st, 2009 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

This one was a combo of bits really, a few of them around at the time, this one combined with a Banksy stencil, another one down on Ashley Road with the monkey giving the v sign to a stencil of the Houses of Parliament. It’s the same image as the one in Bristol Museum before his latest show opened too.

This one was here on Whiteladies Road, where this dood’s enjoying a coffee or something when snapped by Google.

Catchin’ Up With Club Animals

IMG_3515.JPG

“the free bouncy rides are going pretty good. of course giving them on the subway platforms in the summer heat is tough but the smiles i see on the people’s faces and the pictures that i get keep me going for the hour. needless to say i stink pretty bad when i get home with the soaked mascot costume.

my brand new project, the “candy crack delivery service”, is a new thing where i personally hand deliver a 100 % sugar fake crack rock to people’s houses in the brooklyn areas of williamsburg and greenpoint. i’m going to be doing it twice a month on the weekend. i make the crack from broken sugar cubes and then color and flavor them with snow cone syrup and then drop them in a little crack bag which goes for $1
per bag.

the first delivery I had last weekend was very scary because I didn’t know what to expect. i burst in the guy’s front door and started running around his apartment like a stunned boxer or a scared bee. i rushed the sale and got out of there as soon as i could. later i realized how weird i acted and laughed. later in the evening i got a second call to a party where i delivered some candy crack to a couple girls. they were cool and i think we’re going to become friends. the next time i’m doing it is Saturday August 8th.”…. Green Banksy In St Nicholas Market

Posted: July 30th, 2009 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Unsurprisingly, Google Street View cars don’t seem to have been able to make it down the side alley of St Nick’s Market, but this was down the right hand alley as you look at the market hall from Corn Street. Kind of just up from where that Taste place is now, down this alley here.

Odd one, didn’t see another Banksy in green paint anywhere, and the image didn’t seem to appear anywhere else either.

Outta Space by Paul Baines

Posted: July 29th, 2009 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

Outta Space (44" x 55") by Paul Baines is the eleventh and final limited edition digital print in the Indoor Street Art series available here. The planet is full, people are everywhere, there’s no room to breathe, no food to eat, we’re ‘out of space’, yet we keep on doing what our instincts tell us. We breed.

Outta Space by Paul Baines

If everyone on this planet spawns, and their progeny do the same, the planet will die. We will eat, burn, and exhaust every natural resource until nothing is left.

Perhaps we don’t have a choice. Then again many have managed to allay other primal instincts such as the instinct to kill, then again many haven’t. There are times and places to kill, sanctioned by law, and sometimes those who do ‘follow the rules’ are hailed by the state as heroes. The same goes for breeding. If people stop breeding the economy stops growing, breeders are heroes of the state, of capitalism. But what if they stopped, would that be such a bad thing after all?

Do we need to keep expanding? Shouldn’t those who choose to save the planet’s resources be commended rather than those who fill the Earth with yet more of the same, humans, upright walking apes with little more understanding of our ecology than they did say, millions of years ago? History shows us our mistakes. Take the Mayans for example, they wiped themselves out, some might like to attribute it to a mystical event, but most likely it’s a case of over population. If there’s not enough food, water and other basic resources, people will die.

 Outta Space Detail

So what’s the alternative? Well Sci-fi writers have imagined the scenario right across the scenario. There’s always Soylent Green, which in essence means we will become cannibals when all plants and fish are finally decimated. Alternatively a few of us might planet hop, if we used every technical and scientific resource on the planet, fingers crossed at least a dozen of us could leave here in a deep freeze and wait for someone, something, somewhere to pick them up for prosperity. Then again there may not be any viable alternative. We’re slow, dumb, ape-like creatures, and we like to screw. We like to spawn. Even if it kills us all.
