Wooster on Facebook

woostfaceo.jpg

Each and every day we get more excited about the discussions that are taking place on our Wooster Collective Facebook page. The responses to our recent questions:

For those who risk getting arrested while putting up street art or writing graffiti: What motivates you to do it?

What’s currently inspiring you?

How would you describe the “role” that graffiti or street art plays in your life? What does it “add” or subtract?

If I gave you $50 today, with the condition that you had to spend it on “art”, what would you do with it?

If you haven’t yet checked it out we can’t recommend it more highly. It’s become an incredible companion to the Wooster blog.

Also, we are indeed on Twitter. Not as “Wooster Collective” but as Marc and Sara.

Our next show starts on the 4th of June, it’s a solo show from DAVID WHITTLE… Painter, Illustrator and fan of ’3D GLASSES, SKULLS & MOUSTACHES’… Luckily that’s also the name of the show… Expect lots of original canvases and limited edition prints… There’ll be the usual opening night prickery involving us plying people with cheap beer from Aldi (unless we can find a beer sponsor in time!)

Street Art Dealer Launches In Beta

Posted: May 21st, 2009 | Author: graggregator | Filed under: Graf | No Comments »

This looks like a really interesting project from the good people at Steal From Work. Called Street Art Dealer, the project’s going to allow people to walk around the streets of Bristol and buy pieces by various artists by scanning a QR code on pieces painted on people’s walls.

So far Inkie, Chu, Dotmasters, Seus, Solo One and the Graffiti Research Lab are involved in the project, and they’ve got a blog to keep an eye on if you want to know more. They’re also looking for people’s walls to paint, so if you’re interested, check out their site.

Blogged here in the run up, but couldn’t make it along to the actual event. Neil though took some top photos of the painting going on at St George Skate Park last weekend. Looks like all turned out well, despite the weather…
